Richard is the club director and founder of Delta Valley Volleyball Club. He started the club in 1989. He has led numerous teams to the Junior Olympics tournament over the years. Since 1992, every team that Richard has coached has qualified for the Junior Olympics in the highest division possible. Richard's 1999 15's team won the national championship, and his teams have won silver and multiple bronze medals in the open division at Junior Olympics over the years. His teams have finished in the top 5 of every Volleyball Festival appearance, and his 14's team won the Festival Championship in 1991.
In 2007, Richard’s 18’s team qualified in the 18-Open division of the Junior Olympic Championship. In 2009, his 13’s team finished 13th at the Junior Olympics. In addition to coaching the 14's team for 2009, Richard will also assist all other teams with technical assistance, training, and mentoring.

Michele is the current head coach for the Junior Varsity at Ripon Christian High School, and assisted on the Ripon Christian 12-Club team which qualified for the Junior Olympics in 2008. She also assisted with Delta Valley 13’s in 2009 as they made their way to the 2009 Junior Olympics.

This is Danny’s second year with Delta Valley. Danny grew up in Pleasanton where he started playing volleyball in middle school. He played at Foothill High School where his Falcons, coached by Dusty Collins, won three East Bay Athletic League Championships. Danny was named to the all-league team his junior year and was the League MVP his senior year. He played club volleyball for Diablo Valley for three years. His team placed 11th in the nation two years in a row. Danny went on to play for UC Davis where his team finished 2nd in the nation at Nationals in 2003. Danny has been coaching in Sacramento for five years.
Tiger Shelton

Tiger has been coaching volleyball for over 27 years. This is Tiger’s second year back at Delta Valley. Previously while at Delta Valley, he led multiple teams to the Junior Olympics. He has coached both Girls and Boys high school throughout Southern California, Northern California and North Carolina. Tiger has vast experience coaching club volleyball for clubs such as Muzuno South of Rock Hill, South Carolina, North Charlotte VBC of Charlotte, North Carolina, Delta Valley VBC and now Ripon Christian VBC (Team Elon). Tiger was the founder of Carolina Juniors Volleyball and Ripon Christian VBC along with playing an important role in the development of Salinas Valley VBC. Tiger is also CAP II Certified. In addition to his experience coaching various teams, Tiger has helped run summer camps at the University of North Carolina, Furman University and Winthrop University.
Tiger currently coaches the Ripon Christian High School Varsity Girls volleyball team. He has coached the NCVA High Performance team into competition in the summers of 2008 and 2009. Tiger is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) where he serves on the ACVA High School All-American selection committee.

Don Shannon

Don returns for his 7th season at Delta Valley where he has previously coached 18's, 17's, 16's and 14's. Previously Don was head varsity coach at Amador High School, after coaching JV's and Frosh teams in previous seasons. Don has been involved with volleyball since his junior high days, where he spent summers playing beach doubles volleyball in his hometown Manhattan Beach. He played beach doubles tournaments through high school and college, and participated in club and intramural volleyball at Loyola Marymount and while serving in the USAF. This will be his 20th high school or club season coaching volleyball. Don is a USAV Impact Certified, and a CAP Level I certified coach. He is also a graduate of the Gold Medal Squared (GM2) coaching clinic, taught by legendary USAV and NCAA coaches Carl McGown and Marv Dunphy, and is an advocate of the GM2 methodology. Don is a regular at the Delta Valley Volleyball Club camps and clinics, and has assisted in numerous college volleyball summer camps, including University of Oregon, CSU Humboldt, and CSU Stanislaus.

Brian returns for his 5th year at Delta Valley. He has coached at the 14's 16's and 18's levels. In 1996-99, Brian was the varsity coach for both the boys and girls at Laguna Creek HS, and in 1998 he led the boys varsity to the Delta League championship, and was named "Coach of the Year". Brian coached at Sac Select Volleyball Club for six years before coming to Delta Valley in 2005. Brian is completing his sixth season as girls varsity coach at Sacramento Country Day High School. He assisted the girls varsity team at Sheldon High School for two years. Brian is IMPACT certified and is an alumnus of the "Gold Medal Squared" coaching graduate.

Brad coached at Delta Valley several years ago and he is back again to continue his winning ways. Brad played college volleyball for Long Beach State. He was the head coach for San Joaquin Delta College. While coaching at Delta Valley, Brad’s team medaled at the Junior Olympics and won the 18’s division at the Volleyball Festival in Las Vegas, NV. Brad’s coaching skills and drive for excellence have propelled every team he has been associated with to the top. Expect to see his 18’s team do the same this year.

Dodd first joined Delta Valley in 1989 as an assistant coach. He was head coach of the 18 Pink team the following year. He coached the first Pink team to play at JO'S as an Open division team. Dodd is currently the Head Varisty Coach at Chavez High School. He previously coached at both Lincoln and St. Mary's High Schools. His teams have qualified for Sections in 10 of his 11 Varsity seasons. He has four "All Area Volleyball Coach of the Year" awards as well as the 1996 "Section Coach of the Year" award . He recently started the first Boys Program at Chavez High School and looks forward to starting a Boys program for a club. Dodd has coached at Delta Valley during three different periods of time totaling 11 years. Dodd is assisted by Missy First.
